In this module you will see how to put the standards into your teaching practice.
Activity 1 – STARTALK Principles
- Read the STARTALK-Endorsed Principles for Effective Teaching & Learning and Characteristics of Effective Language Lessons page on the STARTALK website. The examples (1 minute video clips) let you see what the principle looks like when implemented in a classroom setting. The At-a-Glance documents show more details of the Learner-Centered and Integrating Content, Culture and Language Principles.

Activity 3 - Reflection / Practical Application

- In the table, list 4 examples of how you saw the STARTALK principles come to life in the two videos (from activity 2). Try to address different STARTALK principles with your responses.
*Advanced Practitioner’s Corner: (OPTIONAL) List one example for EACH of the SIX (6) STARTALK principles.
